America's Desert: Utah!

We spent Wednesday, July 25- Friday, July 27 in Southeast Utah visiting Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. The heat, sandstone, and stunning rock structures were unlike anything we had seen yet on the trip. It took millions of years, erosion and the unique combination of sandstone and water to create these illustrious rock "monuments" at Arches. Canyonlands, as the photos below attempt to show, is a intricate landscape that you can just sit and look over for hours.

This overlook of the "Needles" in Canyonlands was our first true glimpse at Utah's desert and expansiveness.

That's Dion standing in "Wilson's Arch". Not yet even in Arches National Park, this monumental rock is just alongside the main drag in Utah.

Christy lounging on the same "Wilson's Arch".

Now officially in Arches National Park, we are standing at "Park Avenue"- the first group of massive stone structures along the scenic drive in the park.

Sunset at the infamous "Delicate Arch". A 45 minute windy uphill hike, opens up to this impressive view

Christy hiking on and in between the "Fins" of Arches National Park

Our last evening in Canyonlands- Enjoyed dinner and wine while watching the sunset and rain storms along the horizon.
